Spotlight On: David Edwards and Partnership Working
“I have had the opportunity to work on several challenging programmes and met some really talented people without whom change and improvement cannot be achieved. Where the East of England LGA Talent Bank stands out is their excellent professional approach, attention to detail, their local knowledge and the background to understand what the client needs to achieve.”
David Edwards, Talent Bank Associate.
David Edwards, has extensive senior management experience at director level, leading and managing organisational change across a range of services primarily in the public sector with local authorities. David joined the Talent Bank in 2017 and made an immediate impact on a project involving the integration of a service into the newly established Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority. David successfully delivered the initial phase, overcoming the very specific project complexities and managing the sensitivities created.
David’s’ success with the initial project led to this client re-engaging the East of England LGA Talent Bank to deliver some further work. Since then, David has delivered three very different assignments and has also worked in collaboration with other Talent Bank associates as a project team to tackle several priorities or providing additional capacity where specialist skills and advice have been needed to address issues.
All projects have had a central theme of achieving more through partnerships, improving delivery and distilling the priorities into the ones that really matter. Working with elected members, staff and partners locally and some of the best organisations from the private sector, David’s project successes to date include;
- Improving the financial position of an organisation from a balance of less than £100,000 to over £1.2M within a three month period.
- Introducing new ways of working and moving an organisation to new purpose-built offices as part of improving productivity.
- Developing a £3Bn programme of transport schemes, identifying the priorities and introducing a new reporting framework with members.
