Council apprentices invited to help ‘build the future’ of local government

Enthusiastic local council apprentices across England are invited to an exclusive, virtual event being held by the East of England Local Government Association (EELGA) and South West Councils.

The Local Government Apprentice of the Year 2022 will be held via Zoom on 25 and 26 May.

The event offers a unique opportunity to bring together apprentices across the sector, with the chance to network with those in a similar position and gain knowledge and skills that will assist them in building a successful career within local government.

The rising stars will be given the chance to gather in virtual teams to experience the opportunities, risks, and challenges involved in delivering successful local government services, in a supportive environment.

The event is set to inspire, challenge and honour the apprentices and their hard work, and highlight the future opportunities they can look forward to.

Line managers of the apprentices taking part are also welcomed on the second day of this prestigious affair, to support their apprentices and celebrate the achievements and skills they have learnt the previous day, culminating with an awards ceremony.

The event is open to all current level 2 and 3 apprentices working in Local Government (or those who have completed within the last 12 months).

The National Local Government Association are key sponsors for the event and will be providing sponsorship of exciting prizes for the winner and runners up.
