Enoch Kunarajah

Resettlement Coordinator

t: 01284 758317

Enoch is responsible for Refugee Resettlement programme for East of England and his responsibilities are to coordinate the resettlement of refugee families chosen by the Home Office to suitable local authorities.

A Srilankan by birth and moved to the UK at 18 years of age. Over the last 15 years he has worked in local and overseas community projects. From 2008 to 2011 he led a Home Office funded Refugee Resettlement project under the Gateway programme and has worked in the asylum, refugee and migrant sector. Looking back one of the highlights was setting up a Social Enterprise to provide paid work for long term unemployed people and this has made him keen to see people gain employment, integrate well in the UK and help host communities to embrace the gifts and skills new people can bring. Outside the work at EELGA, Enoch and his wife run a Christian Church and is a Chaplain for International students at the local University. Being a Srilankan, cricket was always a passion but with limited time, Enoch has discovered a completely random interest in buying and selling at auctions which seems more profitable than spending the whole Saturday in a cricket field!
