Invite to Wider South East Colleagues

9th August 2019

The Greater London Authority is driving the use of technology to enhance the work we do as planners as well as finding ways to drive down the costs of delivering planning service. Plantech is the sector providing such technology-based solutions that enable us to plan more effectively and efficiently.

The GLA would like to invite you or a representative from your authority to join colleagues from within London to an afternoon of Plantech events.

19th  September 2019
City Hall, London
14.00 – 17.00

BOOK YOUR PLACE HERE

The event will be hosted by Jules Pipe MBE, Deputy Mayor for Planning, Regeneration and Skills, and Theo Blackwell MBE, Chief Digital Officer for London, with the intention of showing you some of the Plantech tools and projects available and providing you with a broader understanding of the direction of the industry and ways you can use this technology to enhance your service area. In short, this is about showing you things that are already being delivered.

The GLA Smart/Digital Development Data Flow or London Development Database Automation project could be of particular interest to you.

Other tools we will showcase include:

  • Plan X – a tool, which automates the process of pre-application advice for householder planning applications
  • Submit a Planning Application – a tool to pull together information relevant to planning applications in a user-friendly format
  • Viability – a tool to pull together the information needed for an initial consistent viability assessment and support negotiations with developers
  • 3D – we are in discussion with a range of suppliers who are keen to showcase their tools

The format of the event will be a number of short presentations in London’s Living Room, followed by an opportunity to meet many of the suppliers and get hands on with some of the technology. In addition, MHCLG have expressed an interest in talking about their Local Digital Fund.
