East of England Local Government Marketplace Open for Business

12th July 2019

The launch of the East of England Local Government Marketplace was officially announced at the East of England Assembly of Council Leaders meeting on Wednesday 3rd July.

Members welcomed this new service from EELGA which enables council owned trading companies and traded services in the East of England to advertise and sell to one another.

A listing for these companies or services, known as “Partners” on the Marketplace, is completely FREE and provides an easy route to make your products and services known to the other 49 Local Authorities in the East of England.

Alongside these Partners, the Associates who make up the East of England LGA’s “Talent Bank” – a regional consultancy service offered to members by the Association – can also be browsed on the Marketplace. These highly experienced experts in their field have a proven track record of intervening to add value to councils across the region.

The Marketplace is an open site for interested buyers – no login, no passwords to remember – simply browse the site and click on “Express Interest” if you find something that’s of interest, whether a Partner or Associate. To assist with this, we have also created a number of “Packages” on the Marketplace – tried and trusted parcels of work such as training courses, coaching programmes and change management programmes – which can be commissioned very easily “off the shelf” or adapted to suit your specific needs. Purchasing through the Marketplace also benefits from the exemption in the Public Contracts Regulations for “Contracts between entities within the Public Sector” – details about how this works can be found here: https://marketplace.eelga.gov.uk/about/

A number of Partners are already signed up for the Marketplace, including well-established companies like the Norse Group and Breckland Training Services. We are actively looking for more to grow the range of services and offers available to other EELGA members.

A flyer explaining what the Marketplace is and how it works can be downloaded here – please circulate this to colleagues who may be interested in the service from both a buying and selling perspective.

If you’re interested in becoming a Partner, using the Marketplace to buy or just want to give us some feedback on this new service, then please get in touch with our Senior Manager, Eddie Gibson – eddie.gibson@eelga.gov.uk or 01284 758300
