Local Government East has been running a series of roundtable over the last few years, and this programme continued into 2025/26. These sessions are open to all councils in the East of England and their partner organisations. At the LGE roundtable, you will hear from a guest speaker on each theme and have an opportunity to learn from, and share your own examples of, best practice, opportunities, and challenges.
In the 2024 Autumn budget, the Government pledged to reform SEND provision to improve outcomes and return the system – including local authorities – to financial sustainability. While injecting a £1bn uplift in that budget, they raised that this would be built on in phase two.
In this roundtable, we will look to to provide an overview of recent national policy changes on supporting children with Special Education and Disability Needs, and share challenges and good practice from councils across the East of England.
Agenda and speakers to follow shortly.
Who should attend: Local councillors and officers, particularly those in Health, wellbeing, children’s services and care.
Please note: if this session is oversubscribed places will be limited to 2 – 3 people per authority.
