Local Government East has been running a series of roundtable over the last few years, and this programme continued into 2025/26. These sessions are open to all councils in the East of England and their partner organisations. At the Local Government East roundtable, you will hear from a guest speaker on each theme and have an opportunity to learn from, and share your own examples of, best practice, opportunities, and challenges.
In the 2024 Autumn budget, the Government pledged to reform the local growth funding landscape at phase 2 of the spending review. As part of this, they stated that they were looking to rationalise the number of funds, move away from competitions, better support local leaders, and integrate funding into the industrial strategy.
At this roundtable, we will be investigating any proposed reforms made at the Spending Review, and considering how this will impact on local authorities in the East of England. Together, we can discuss whether this opens up any opportunities for our region, and how the new growth funding regime can be used to boost growth and opportunity in the East.
Agenda and speakers to follow shortly.
Who should attend: Local councillors and officers, particularly those in economic development.
Please note: if this session is oversubscribed places will be limited to 2 – 3 people per authority.
