Public Practice Seeking Local Authority Placement Hosts

Public Practice will shortly be opening the application window for local authorities and other public organisations across London, the South East and East of England to submit Expressions of Interest to host placements starting in April 2020. Applications will open on 7 October, with EOIs due for submission by midday Monday 25 November 2019.

So far we have placed 84 Associates in 36 Authorities and public organisations from Oxford to Cambridge, St. Albans to Ashford, Barking to Brighton and Great Ormond Street Hospital to the Greater London Authority. With a wide variety of backgrounds in architecture, urban design, landscape architecture, project management, community engagement, sustainable development, conservation and heritage, and economic development, our Associates are helping Authorities to proactively plan and deliver high quality, inclusive and sustainable homes and neighbourhoods.

Whether you are bringing forward a large scale urban extension or new settlement, engaging communities in estate regeneration projects, seeking opportunities to develop small urban sites or rejuvenating town centres and historic high streets, our placement programme can supply the built environment skills and expertise to support and grow your team.

You can see what our current Associates are doing in their roles at www.publicpractice.org.uk, where you can also read Frequently Asked Questions and watch a short film about the programme. You will be able to download the Prospectus for Authorities and EOI form once applications open on 7 October.

We hope that this new recruitment round will be of interest to you and/or other teams within your Authority. If you would like to discuss this further, please don’t hesitate to email or book a call with Helen or with Finn to discuss a potential role.
