Tackling Homelessness across the East

6th April 2018

The Homelessness Reduction Act, the most significant change in homelessness legislation for several decades, came into force on 3 April 2018. Local councils now have greater responsibilities to prevent and relieve homelessness, yet a combination of a shortage of homes, soaring private rents and frozen household incomes provides a complex set of challenges.

In partnership with the District Councils’ Network, the Local Government Association, and the National Housing Federation, the East of England LGA will be holding a conference on 21 June to consider the learning from the preparation for the Act, and the solutions to reduce homelessness and meet local housing needs.

This event is aimed at Leaders, Chief Executives, and Portfolio Holders for Housing, Senior Housing Officers and Housing Association representatives in the East of England.

Further information will follow.
