Sustainable Growth in the East of England: the Housing Implications

The next session of the East of England All-Party Parliamentary Groupwill focus on 'Sustainable Growth in the East of England: Housing Implication”.  Taking place on Tuesday 14 May in Westminster Hall, Cllr Linda Haysey, Vice Chair or the East of England LGA and Leader of East Hertfordshire Council will be speaking on behalf of the Association.

The meeting will explore the implications of sustainable growth in the East of England with regard to housing, discussing important issues including delivery, affordability and quality, address questions such as:
  • What are the barriers to delivering housing in the East of England?
  • What will new garden towns and cities look like?
  • How will the East of England benefit from the Housing Infrastructure Fund?
  • How can we maximise the benefits of removing the Housing Revenue Account cap?
  • How do we ensure affordability and quality of housing, as well as quantity?
An update on last September’s Budget submission will be presented at the joint EE APPG and East of England LGA Parliamentary reception, sponsored by AstraZeneca on 25 June 2019.
