Lead members to debate the future of adult social care funding

7th June 2018

There is an increasing focus on health and social care funding, emphasizing the need for urgent action to address immediate and long-term funding pressures.

In the run up to the publication of the Green Paper on the future of adult social care by the summer recess, and the parallel programme of work on working-age adults with care needs (led by the Department for Health and Social Care and the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government), we are supporting lead members and Chairs of Health and Wellbeing Boards to come together to debate the to debate the key issues related to the Green Paper and future of adult social care funding.

The Round table discussion will take place on 12 July with Cllr Izzi Seccombe OBE, Leader of Warwickshire County Council and Chair of the LGA Community Wellbeing Board and Iain MacBeath, Director of Adult Care Services at Hertfordshire County Council and national ADASS Co-Lead for Resources.

The network will also enable members to:
• Develop their thinking and their role through exchange of information, practice and ideas;
• Forge strong relationships; and,
• Keep informed of new policy developments and be in a position to influence these.
