East of England APPG to submit response to the Treasury ahead of the Autumn Budget

13th August 2018

The East of England LGA continues to support the East of England All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG), chaired by Peter Aldous MP and Daniel Zeichner MP.

Over the past nine months the APPG has heard evidence from a range of organisations in the East of England including local government, MPs and Peers, LEPs and major employers on the economic challenges and opportunities for the East of England.

The APPG has brought together this evidence to produce an East of England APPG submission to the Treasury ahead of the Autumn budget. The submission focusses on three key issues: transport; infrastructure, investment and housing; and the Industrial Strategy. It makes a number of recommendations to enable the region to continue to be a productive, prosperous and inclusive economy.

The Association has worked with the APPG secretariat to ensure that submission reflects the ambitions of councils in the East is reflected, and in particular helps to deliver the infrastructure and housing that is vital for the region. The submission will be launched at Parliament on Wednesday 5 September 2018.
