A new way of working: enabling workforce innovation

4th October 2018

When authorities uploaded their Gender Pay Gap Reports the East of England LGA collated all this information to get a regional view of what was happening in local government in our region.

What we found is that it is impossible to make comparisons between authorities as the makeup of the workforce is so different, and each has their own story to tell.

What we are sure of, however, is that there is room for workforces to be more inclusive and representative and, that there is also a willingness for authorities to work together to think about how they can achieve this.

To that end, we are delighted to be hosting the first LGA Workforce Innovation Zone in our region.

Our Intervention Day will be on 16th November and will herald the beginning of the journey, there will be lots of input of ideas and space for delegates to generate more between them.  We are looking for people who can commit their authority to making a difference through agreement to work either individually or collaboratively on something specific, with a view to meeting again to share progress.  Participants will decide the details based on ideas generated during the day.
