#FireItUp for National Apprenticeship Week #NAW2020
National Apprenticeship Week 2020 #NAW2020 takes place from the 3 to 9 February 2020, and is an opportunity to celebrate the impact of apprenticeships on individuals, employers, the local community and economy.
This theme ‘#LookBeyond’ is to encourage everyone to look beyond the outdated stereotypes surrounding apprenticeships and to celebrate the diversity of opportunity and value that they bring.
Local Government apprentices in the East of England will be celebrated throughout the week, with engagement and events in schools, colleges, workplaces, and the local community, to recognise the value and importance of apprenticeships. The East of England LGA will be highlighting just some of the many celebrations planned during the week in our Region, with our ‘Spotlight on NAW celebrations…’ articles and sharing as much social media activity as we can too.
In addition, our “Meet the Apprentices” campaign is a series of case studies where we hear from apprentices working in local government in the East of England, and their apprenticeship journey. This may be at any point on their journey, whether they have completed their apprenticeship and gone on to secure a permanent role at the authority, has taken on an apprenticeship as an existing member of staff, or are just starting their apprenticeship and giving their first impressions of working in local government. The aim is to give an insight into what being an apprentice really means.
Get involved with the National Apprenticeship Week conversation on social media with #NAW2020, #FireItUp, #lookbeyond, #apprenticeshipsinlocalgovernment, #fireitup, #getupandgrow and join us in celebrating and supporting Apprenticeships in local government!
