You are invited to attend the Wider South East Forum due to take place on the 4 March 2022 at 10:00 – 12:30.

Collaboration has never been more important in tackling the complicated and challenging problems faced by local government today, particularly in the wake of the unprecedented pandemic we have experienced over the past two years.

For this reason, London Councils, the Greater London Authority, the East of England Local Government Association and South East Councils have come together to put on an officer-led event on the collaboration taking place within this geographically special area.

Working together in London and the Wider South East is looking to bring planning, infrastructure and sustainability staff from across the East of England, the South East and London to share best practice and build a foundation for future collaboration in the years to come.

It is hoped that this event will be the first of many showcasing the great work that is being done across London and the Wider South East, and will look to establish strong relations and firm collaboration between each of these regions for the benefit of everyone. It will also hopefully lay the groundwork for a larger conference to take place later in the year with senior officers and councillors.

As part of this forum we want to start discussing what kind of themes would make for important areas of collaboration around London and Wider South East. Therefore, there will be time set aside at the end to discuss how to make best use of the talks we hear during the day, and put forward issues for our politicians to discuss at a larger conference scheduled to take place in July 2022.

Agenda to follow shortly.
