Trauma Informed Practice Training

Trauma results from an event, series of events, or set of circumstances that is experienced by an individual as harmful or life threatening. While unique to the individual, generally the experience of trauma can cause lasting adverse effects, limiting the ability to function and achieve mental, physical, social, emotional or spiritual well-being. This training will improve the accessibility and quality of services by creating culturally sensitive, safe services that people trust and want to use. It aims to prepare professionals to work in collaboration and partnership with people and empower them to make choices about their lives.

Training Objectives:

The training will be suitable for different levels of engagement and various positions within the organisation, focusing on the specific needs of different personnel. This approach ensures that everyone is prepared to address trauma effectively. The program will highlight the benefits of implementing a trauma-informed approach by delivering a 3D model that considers the perspectives of staff, the organisation, leadership teams, and any trauma survivors who interact with the service, regardless of the focus of their work.

Training Facilitator:

Survivors in Transition (SiT) support organisations to provide safe, supportive services where professionals feel confident and equipped to offer responsive support to service users who may be trauma survivors.  They do this by identifying and building on good practice and facilitating the collaboration of services in the delivery of effective trauma-informed care for the benefit of their community. SiT offers bespoke, flexible consultation-based, immersive model of training. Crafted by experts, and survivors as partners the training aims to educate and ensure long-lasting impact and practical application.

How the training will be delivered: The training will be delivered through MS teams and will not be recorded. It will be delivered through a power point presentation, visual materials and facilitate case study discussions.

Audience: This is a private training event.
