Transport East Summit

Date: Monday 17 December 2018
Time: 10:00 - 13:30
Location: Trinity Park, Felixstowe Road, Ipswich, IP3 8UH

Earlier this year Transport East was launched as a new Sub-National Transport Forum which will provide a collective vision for the future of transport and infrastructure in Norfolk,Suffolk, Essex and Southend-on-Sea.

The aim is to create a vehicle which can drive forward a truly joined-up transport network and secure vital investment in future infrastructure.

Transport East has identified three key themes that together define our unique transport geography:

  • Global Gateways: Better connected ports and airports to help UK businesses thrive and boost the nation’s economy through greater access to international markets.
  • Multi-centred growth: Enhanced links between our fast growth places; enabling the area to function as a coherent economy and improving productivity.
  • Coastal communities: A reinvented, sustainable coast for the 21st century which also delivers on our ambition to become the UK’s foremost all-energy coast.

The next steps is to develop the Transport East Strategy, and we are engaging our key partners in this process.

A Transport East Summit will be held on 17 December 2018, from 10.00 – 13.30 (including lunch) at Trinity Park, Felixstowe Road, Ipswich, IP3 8UH to bring together partners in this discussion.

The Summit is an important step in bringing together transport authorities, district planning authorities, Local Enterprise Partnerships and business, transport providers, representatives from infrastructure agencies and transport services to explore the challenge and opportunities, and set the priorities and ambitions which will ensure that our transport network is fit for the future.

Please note that if the event is oversubscribed the number of attendees by organisation will be considered and may be limited.
