Transport East is the STB for the East of England.
We bring together partners to make a strong case for investment, so our transport network is fit for the future and supports the ambitions of the region. The Summit is our opportunity to share our progress in developing the first regional transport strategy, setting our trajectory to 2050, and make sure our partners are shaping its’ priorities.
The day is split into two parts. The morning will set the background to the Transport Strategy, with a key-note speech from Baroness Vere, DfT Minister for Roads, Buses and Places who has oversight of regional transport. This will be followed by an insightful panel discussion looking at the three key themes emerging from our strategy work so far.
After lunch is your opportunity to really shape the detail of the Transport Strategy. Through workshop discussions we will be looking to find consensus around the core regional transport priorities, helping us develop a framework for future decision-making. We will also explore how we can jointly increase the region’s voice with government to secure long-term stable funding and embed our strategy through government, delivery bodies and the private sector.
Audience: The Summit brings together transport authorities, planning authorities, Local Enterprise Partnerships and business, transport providers, representatives from infrastructure agencies and transport services to explore the transport priorities for our region. This event is by invitation only.
Your engagement is fundamental to the success of Transport East and we look forward to seeing you on the day.
