The Principal Social Workers Network from East of England Region invites Adult Social Workers and their managers to attend this years Regional Social Work event on Tuesday 5th November 2019 at The Rowley Mile Conference Centnre, Newmarket Racecourse, Suffolk.

This packed event will give you the opportunity to explore the innate nature of social work and its values at the time of changing landscape and increased demand in adult social care in England:

Radical Social Work: Getting Back to Human Relationships
Featuring opportunities to attend two unique workshops, exhibition stands from Care Knowledge, Research in Practice for Adults and NICE as well as opportunities to network. This full day conference is designed for adult social workers, managers and newly qualified social workers.

The programme features keynote speakers and expert lead workshops on topics including the ADASS President - Julie Ogley, Social Work England, Camerados, TLAP, the PSW Network members for an informative and thought-provoking day that allows opportunity for networking and learning together in our region!

Objectives for the event:

  • Learning how radical social work can support creative and socially just approaches for people living in East of England region
  • Promoting the importance of resilience and wellbeing within the social work profession
  • Promoting the importance of meaningful practice: the power of human relationships in adult social work
  • Supporting continuous professional development for social workers in East of England Region

This event supports the Continuous Professional Development requirements for social workers as per HCPC/Social Work England professional standards for social workers.

Registration is open now, and this event is free to attend.

PLEASE NOTE: There are a maximum of 12 places available per local authority, as well as a total of 15 places for social workers working for mental health trusts from our region. Places will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis.
