The East of England Local Government Association is excited to partner with Mark Palmer, South East Employers to deliver this training session to Elected Members in the East of England.
This workshop is designed to clarify the roles and responsibilities of elected councillors and officers working within the ‘Strong Leader Model’ of governance. The workshop will promote discussion and dialogue in respect of the relationship between officers and councillors and provide councillors with the opportunity to develop their understanding of how to make the most of this unique but naturally complex relationship.
By the end of the workshop, councillors will be able to:
- Fully understand the roles and responsibilities of councillors and officers
- Have clarity in respect of the workings of the political management arrangements within the scope of the ‘Strong Leader Model’ of governance
- Understand constructive approaches to developing a positive and productive way of working between councillors and officers.
The session will run for approximately 2 hours and will be delivered virtually via Microsoft Teams.
The maximum number of delegates for this session is 15.
Audience: Elected Members from member councils of the East of England Local Government Association.
