We know that the future is changing for our member authorities and that local government faces a range of unprecedented challenges. From the Local Government Review and legislative changes to increasing demand and rising costs, the sector continues to work hard to deliver the best possible service to local communities.
To support our member authorities, EELGA is pleased to offer a series of six-monthly events designed to equip Elected Members and officers with valuable insights and training to navigate these challenges effectively.
These events will offer delegates the opportunity to attend three seminars/workshops and hear from keynote speakers on a range of highly relevant topics. As the events develop, they will be shaped using feedback from those who attend so that we can ensure that what we are offering is always needed and relevant.
Alongside the workshops and as part of our support package, we will bring together the outputs of each event, along with useful links and case studies, into a toolkit that will build over time to become a comprehensive go to resource. Hosted on our new website, launching in early spring, it will be accessible as part of a new member’s only area.
We will launch Local Government Essentials East on Friday 28 February 2025 at The Nucleus, Chesterford Research Park, Saffron Walden CB10 1TS.
