Local Government East is running a series of free roundtable discussions in 2025 and 2026. These sessions are open to all councils in the East of England and their partner organisations. At the roundtable, you will hear from a guest speaker on each theme and have an opportunity to learn from, and share your own examples of, best practice, opportunities, and challenges.

With the Local Government White paper now published, additional clarity received around the Government’s timetable, local government reorganisation is becoming an increasingly important feature of local government. However, the process can be fraught with pitfalls and hidden surprises, which will make the coming two years difficult for those authorities undergoing the transformation.

Within this roundtable, we want people to share what they perceive to be both the challenges and opportunities around the reorganisation of their local authority, and how they are using this as a chance to deliver for residents in their region.

Agenda and speakers to follow shortly.

Who should attend: Local councillors and officers involved in local government organisation bids and devolution bids across the East of England.

Please note: if this session is oversubscribed places will be limited to 2 – 3 people per authority.
