As a result of COVID-19 and in response to many councils' evolving needs, the East of England LGA is hosting a Financial Masterclass to support elected members and officers to develop the skills they need to review current financial assumptions and make confident decisions moving forward.

This is a practical masterclass for members and officers working at a strategic level with financial responsibility. In conjunction with Philip Simpkins ex unitary Chief Executive and Section 151 Officer, who is both a CIPFA and IRRV qualified accountant, specialising in strategic financial management – we will provide you with:

  • Financial analysis and common risks from across the region
  • Insight into carrying out a financial health check of your council
  • How you can meet the challenging budget targets needed for long term sustainability
