The East of England LGA is running a series of free roundtable discussions in 2022 and 2023. These sessions are open to all members and colleagues of councils in the East of England and their partner organisations. At the EELGA Roundtable Discussions you will hear from a guest speaker on each theme and have the opportunity to learn from, and share, your own examples of best practice, opportunities, and challenges.

As public sector organisations work towards operating ‘business as usual’ post-pandemic, it is clear that the landscape for recruitment and retention has changed. Faced with skills shortages, budget constraints and tough competition for finding and retaining talent; recruitment and retention is high on the agenda for many councils up and down the country. This roundtable gives you the opportunity to discuss the key recruitment areas which have been significantly impacted by the aforementioned challenges. Importantly, EELGA invites you to share ideas and solutions, as well as consider new approaches, to help recruit and retain top tier talent into the public sector in the East of England.
