The East of England LGA is running a series of free roundtable discussions in 2023 and 2024. These sessions are open to all councils in the East of England and their partner organisations. At the EELGA roundtable, you will hear from a guest speaker on each theme and have an opportunity to learn from, and share your own examples of, best practice, opportunities, and challenges.
By the time of this roundtable, the Levelling Up White Paper will have been a published part of government policy for nearly two years. From “Levelling Up Funds” to “Levelling Up Missions”, it has become an important pillar of the government’s approach to regions and local authorities. At this milestone, EELGA is interested to hear what local authorities, as protectors of place, feel about these policies two years on.
Therefore, we want to discuss how you have taken advantage of the opportunities made available by the government’s approach to regional growth, and what kinds of policies and projects have you instigated to take advantage of the government’s interest in this field? Likewise, we would also like to hear about the improvements you would like to see in this area of policy, and how the government could work with the “Levelling up” concept to deliver even greater value to local areas in the East of England.
Agenda to follow shortly.
Who should attend: Councillors, leaders, chief executives, officers at all levels and other partner organisations in the East of England region.
Please note: if this session is oversubscribed places will be limited to 2 – 3 people per authority.
