The East Suffolk Partnership's seventh Annual Forum.

The East Suffolk Partnership invites you to “Shaping our Future”, our seventh annual forum. To book your place please click on the ‘Register Online’ button below.

What’s it all about:
Each year the East Suffolk Partnership hosts a conference for representatives from our local communities, voluntary organisations, public services and local businesses. This important event gives us all the opportunity to share our knowledge and expertise and work together to benefit our communities and businesses in East Suffolk.

The theme this year is “Shaping our Future”. We will explore some of the critical issues affecting our lives and identify how we can respond to them within our communities, businesses and organisations. A common thread throughout will be the power of data and how we can all make much better use of it.

These critical issues include:

  • The drive to devolve power directly to local communities has resulted in community partnerships being introduced across the area to help put people back in control of the decisions and services that matter most to them.
  • Increasing use of data and intelligence by businesses and organisations across all sectors is offering challenging and exciting opportunities for our local communities, the public sector and local businesses to provide new or essential local services.
  • Rapid advances in technology are disrupting traditional ways of doing business as everything that can be connected is becoming connected.
  • The climate emergency is now mainstream and focussing attention globally. But what solutions are being sought locally?
  • Species Extinction and Biodiversity Loss is hitting critical levels, what is our role here in East Suffolk in reversing this trend?
  • New products, competition and changing consumer preferences are having a fundamental effect on our town centres and retail areas – how are we responding locally?
  • Increasing numbers of people with complex health needs are pushing our Health and social care systems to breaking point – a shift to a more system-wide preventative approach, supported by new technological solutions is underway.
  • Brexit - With Britain now scheduled to leave the EU on 31 October, the British political system finds itself at a challenging crossroads – how prepared are we in East Suffolk?
  • Young people have a pivotal role in shaping and delivering our future, and will in turn live with the consequences of decisions we make now. Are we ensuring their views are reflected in all plans and strategies for our future?

Workshops and seminars will be on offer to explore these key issues shaping our lives, businesses, communities and natural environment in East Suffolk.
