The joint Health and Social Care Eastern Region masterclass is aimed at embedding the refreshed principles, definitions and guidance for monthly situation reports.

Who should attend: The masterclass is primarily for those responsible for validating and ensuring system leader sign-off for monthly SITREP data across the health and care system, and who are willing to act as a first point of contact and resource for those within their local system who have queries or issues relating to their reporting, providing mutual support and peer validation for colleagues dealing with queries from their local system. Ideally, we would like to see a team from each part of the system including Assistant Directors, BCF leads, discharge coordinators from local hospitals, DTOC leads, STP leads and performance leads.

Masterclass objectives: our aim is to ensure that every part of our health and social care system has access to a local expert who is the first point of contact for responding to local queries/issues about SITREP reporting, as well as access to a virtual network to raise, share, debate and resolve local queries quickly, achieving widest possible reach

Other support on offer: beyond the masterclass, participants will have access to : central experts to validate responses to issues or respond to issues which can’t be resolved locally; a set of FAQs based on queries to the NHSE national data team; support to develop or set up effective local networks for sharing queries & responses to questions; access to masterclass learning resources to support development of colleagues; access to national webinars addressing issues not readily resolved locally, and access to an annual refresher day

Workshop content: this will be shaped to meet local requirements and case material generated from local experience. Each masterclass will however include: the principles underpinning the Guidance; applying the Guidance to queries/issues which have come to the central team; handling ‘border disputes’, challenges and conflict; building a local network and peer validation; growing more local experts; sources of support

Contributors: The masterclass has been organised by Eastern ADASS, the LGA, NHSi and NHS England will be chaired by Chris Badger, Chair of the regional Transfers of Care Network, and led by Liz Sargeant, Clinical Lead Health and Social Care Integration at NHS Improvement.

The East of England LGA is supporting this event on behalf of the event partners.
