Training Outline:
For Brentwood Borough Council and Rochford District Council to have a clear, agreed and effective approach to supporting equality, diversity and inclusion throughout each organisation and in its own practice through Anti-Racist Practice and Racial Equality Training.
Anti-Racist Practice and Racial Equality Training will help Brentwood Borough Council and Rochford District Council to ensure:
- The principles of equality, diversity and inclusion are embedded in the organisations.
- Obstacles to participation are reduced, with the organisation’s work designed and open for everyone. Encouraging Brentwood Borough Council and Rochford District Council to challenge inequality and achieve improved equality of outcomes.
- Brentwood Borough Council and Rochford District Council are more effective because they reflect different perspectives, experiences and skills, including, where applicable, from current and future beneficiaries.
Workshop Outline:
Brentwood Borough Council and Rochford District Council to review and improve their performance for people with characteristics protected by the Equality Act 2010 through training focusing on:
- Anti-racist practice for organisation culture change
- Facilitated anti-racist discussions – learning to have uncomfortable conversations about race
- Meeting the development and support needs of Black and global majority staff members
- Protected characteristics
- Microaggressions
- stereotypes
- Bias
- Intersectionality
- Engaging and supporting Black and global majority children, families & communities
