Malcolm Sharp MBE is a highly experienced Planning and Local Government consultant advising local authorities on all aspects of delivering Planning and associated Services. He has held senior posts in four local authorities including Head of Planning, Corporate Director of Environmental Services and Managing Director. He has over 47 years’ experience in all aspects of planning and delivery. Since retiring from local government in 2013 Malcolm has established a consultancy specialising in supporting public sector organisations to provide high quality services through peer reviews, diagnostic commissions, critical friend roles and training activity. Recent commissions include reviewing an Urban Development Corporation for MHCLG; review of an emerging joint local plan for Chiltern and South Bucks Councils; planning services review for Bassetlaw D.C; review of Leeds City Council Plans Panels. Malcolm served on the Lyons Housing Commission 2014. He became Chair of the National Retail Planning Forum in July 2016. He is a member of the RTPI’s English Policy Panel and a past national president of the Planning Officers’ Society. He was appointed Chair of Nottingham City Homes in 2016 a year in which he was also awarded an MBE for services to Planning in England. |
