- The Impact of Exiting the EU
Before working in local government, Matt worked in the legal sector as a will writer and a paralegal but felt that local government gave him a better opportunity to give back to the community. Since then, he has worked at Suffolk County Council, and now works at EELGA, assisting with coordination surrounding Brexit and COVID-19, and in the collection of economic reporting from across the region.
In particular, he is looking at methods to track funding streams entering the region to better understand how this funding is distributed both within the east of England, and between different regions. He has also conducted research on the effectiveness of home working across the local government sector, the extent of senior pay across the region, and curates regular intel updates to partners on important news for authorities in the east, especially on the subject of the pandemic.
