‘Time to Think’ for Coaches at Hertfordshire County Council

11th December 2017

On the 17 October, Hertfordshire County Council held a Coaching CPD event for their internal coaching ‘pool’ and kindly opened up invites to other members of the East of England LGA Regional Coaching Pool. Several coaches from South Cambridgeshire District Council joined the event at the Hertfordshire Development Centre in Stevenage. This is the first of what is hoped to be a series of CPD events aimed at expanding our thinking on coaching, exploring new topics and providing an opportunity to network. The focus was on ‘Clean Language’ and Nancy Kline’s ‘Time to Think’, with an opportunity for peer coaching supervision and delegates were asked to incorporate their learning into a PDP. The feedback was very positive with delegates highlighting the good mix of interaction, sharing of experience and the input on the above topics from Tina Dickens who facilitated the event.

Our next Hertfordshire County Council Coaching CPD event is on the afternoon of 21 March 2018, again at Hertfordshire Development Centre in Stevenage. Topics being considered include Speed Coaching, Coaching in a Crisis (tips and techniques for raising and exploring mental health issues in coaching) and Returner / Retirement Coaching: models, techniques and practices, plus having a guest speaker.  If you would like to attend, then please contact Richard Severn at Hertfordshire County Council directly, via email on richard.severn@hertfordshire.gov.uk.

The next EELGA Coaching CPD event will be taking place on 14 December in Bury St Edmunds. The all-day event will be focussing on ‘Making the Most of Internal Coaching’ and ‘Recovery, Wellness and Health Coaching’, and is open to all EELGA Coaching Pool subscribers, Suffolk Coaching and Mentoring Partnership (SCMP), Member Authorities with an interest in coaching and our partner organisations. To book your place, and for further information please follow the link.
