Grow Your Own: Nurturing Individual and Organisational Growth through Coaching

7th June 2017

We are all aware of the many benefits that professional coaching can bring which can positively impact both the individual and the organisation, to achieve its full potential.   Managers should not underestimate the impact of coaching on their employees as it frequently creates a fundamental shift in their approach to their work.  A coaching relationship can help give fresh perspective on work challenges, enhanced decision making skills and increased personal and workplace confidence.  The East of England LGA has seen how coaching can, and is being used as an invaluable tool for developing our workforce in local authorities across a wide range of needs.

We have realised first-hand how the coaching relationship can enhance the alignment of personal growth and capabilities with organisational needs and are delighted to be hosting a number of Coaching Training Programmes and CPD events over the coming year to suit all levels, from line manager as coach, through to experienced, executive coach. Our current programmes offer qualifications at ILM5 level, ILM7 level, plus a Senior Managers Coaching Programme, which are all supported by a number of ongoing CPD events.

In the spotlight today is our popular ILM7 in Executive Coaching and Mentoring Programme, with Cohort 3 scheduled to begin in October 2017.

The post-graduate level programme has been designed by The Training Spa in collaboration with the East of England Local Government Association and Accredited by the Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM).  The course is delivered by Stephanie Allen who is a highly respected and sought-after Leadership Development Facilitator, Mentor and Coach.

The programme runs over six interactive, facilitated workshops and will offer participants plenty of opportunity to share and learn, as well as to practice their coaching or mentoring skills in a safe and confidential environment. Participants are encouraged to devote additional time to developing their skills through action learning, reflection and practical implementation both during the course and beyond.

The Level 7 Certificate in Executive Coaching and Mentoring is designed for senior managers or HR/OD professionals who want to develop their expertise and credibility in the fields of coaching and mentoring, or to establish coaching on an organisational level. It is also ideal for professional coaches and mentors seeking to enhance and accredit their experience with a nationally recognised qualification.

The Programme has been very well received, with delegates commenting:
“[EELGA ILM7 Programme] was a wonderful opportunity to strengthen my coaching knowledge and experience in a challenging but supportive learning environment”

“[My objectives] were met and exceeded. I thoroughly enjoyed the sessions and the learning.”
