Framework Programme 7 - Funding Opportunities relevant to Local Authorities, Local Enterprise Partnerships and partner organisations

FP7 is the European Union's main research funding instrument and increasingly important to demonstration and innovative pilot initiatives. It supports multidisciplinary research and cooperative trans-national research and development activities in Europe and beyond.

The Framework Programme for Research and Development (FP7) has two main strategic objectives

  • To strengthen the scientific and technological base of European industry;
  • To encourage its international competitiveness, while promoting research that supports EU policies.

Funding is made available to co-finance research, technological development and demonstration projects based on competitive calls.

This seminar will feature a detailed presentation from a specialist UK Consultancy firm with particular expertise in FP7 who will inform us of how FP7 relates to organisational priorities and give you their insider knowledge on the key elements to making a successful and strong application.

Participants will benefit from hearing how organisations like your own have already benefitted from Framework Programme 7 through case study presentations.  Such case studies will demonstrate the types of initiatives which have been supported within the Local Government and Economic Development fields of influence with practical hints and tips. Take the opportunity to learn from the first-hand experience of successful project applicants, ask any burning questions and network with project and programme representatives!

For those particularly keen to make the most of the day and start to develop project ideas to the next stage, there will be the opportunity to discuss project concepts further in workshops with a view to a strong application submission in 2012/13.

The overall event is aimed at:

  • Anyone with an interest in accessing funding for R&D demonstration and pilot projects working with European partners
  • This event will be of interest to both experienced practitioners as well as newcomers to the world of FP7 who would like to find out more.

Why not also take the opportunity to network informally with other partners from the East of England who you may be able to work with further on these topics?
