Date: Thursday 12 July 2018
Time: 10:00 - 12:30

There is an increasing focus on health and social care funding, emphasizing the need for urgent action to address immediate and long-term funding pressures.

In the run up to the publication of the Green Paper on the future of adult social care by the summer recess, and the parallel programme of work on working-age adults with care needs led by the Department for Health and Social Care and the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government, this network aims to provide an opportunity to bring together East of England lead members for adult social care/health and Health and Wellbeing Board Chairs to:

  • Debate the key issues related to the Green Paper and future of adult social care funding;
  • Develop their thinking and their role through exchange of information, practice and ideas;
  • Forge strong relationships; and,
  • Keep informed of new policy developments and be in a position to influence these.

The network will be led by:

  • Cllr Izzi Seccombe OBE, Leader of Warwickshire County Council and Chair of the LGA Community Wellbeing Board
  • Iain MacBeath, Director of Adult Care Services at Hertfordshire County Council and national ADASS Co-Lead for Resources

This network event is delivered in partnership by the East of England LGA and Eastern ADASS.
