We are all facing a backdrop of increasingly stretched resources, and many authorities are looking to adopt a more commercial approach to delivering services and raising income. 

The East of England LGA has been working with a number of authorities who are pursuing this path as a means to improve resilience by generating additional funds to support the delivery of core service priorities.  This event is an opportunity to showcase this work.  It will focus on opportunities for raising income and consider how local authorities will need to adapt in order to realise these opportunities, including a need to develop in-house commercial skills and culture.  

Objectives for the event are to bring together partners from across the system to:

  • To showcase current thinking and delivery around developing commercial services in local government
  • To develop thinking and plans for raising revenue in the climate of financial challenge
  • To provide a platform for the East of England’s authorities to share and debate the issues surrounding this agenda

Audience: This event is ideal for elected members and senior officers with an interest in commercialisation and a desire to improve their own knowledge and skills. It is also a great opportunity to network with peers from across the East of England on this topical agenda.
