The East of England LGA offers an extensive range of training and consultancy services for local authorities through our Talent Bank in our priority areas one of which is HR and OD.  Our training delivery is predominantly bespoke in house courses but we are delighted to offer some open courses this year providing excellent opportunities to network with colleagues across the region and get a feel for how these courses may have a positive impact if run in house.

The first of these will be a Conflict Management for Line Managers Workshop on 17th April in Bury St Edmunds.  Conflict can have a negative effect on the productivity of any workforce. Teams at loggerheads are unlikely to perform to their full potential, and internal disagreements can have a significant impact on morale and create more work for line managers and HR professionals who are tasked with resolving this conflict.

We are teaming up with Common Sense Services to bring this workshop which is designed to help leaders develop the skills to make conflict constructive and improve productivity.  The training empowers delegates by giving them insights in to how conflict arises and offers intensely practical approaches to resolve issues more effectively.

At the end of this workshop participants will:

  • Understand how conflict originates and grows
  • Understand their own conflict style, how it impacts on others and how it can be managed
  • Understand the principles and practice of listening in conflict
  • Understand how to structure and manage challenging conversations

We are able to offer this workshop for a competitive £70 per delegate and bookings will be accepted on a first come first served basis.

This course is available to book in house through the talent bank so if you are interested in running this workshop for teams within your authorities please do contact the East of England LGA on 01284 758300 or at info@eelga.gov.uk
