Workforce Planning and Development
Building the workforce capacity needed to deliver required efficiencies and improvements is no longer the sole concern of HR Departments (if it ever was)!
This is an essential element of all authorities' improvement and community planning. Chief Executives, senior officers and elected members are now taking a leading role in ensuring that workforce planning is integral to improvement and efficiency plans.
The Local Government Pay and Workforce Strategy was launched at the end of 2007 and sets out some useful background and some priority themes and actions. In order to support local authorities with capacity building and improving the skills of their workforce, a variety of activity has been put in place in the East of England.
